Dr. Dennis Gross’ IPL Dark Spot Correcting Serum

I’m pretty good at keeping secrets, so this “tell-all” should definitely surprise you.

I admit, I’ve withheld this beauty secret for far too long, but I just couldn’t let the cat out the bag. I had to keep it to myself, quite frankly, because I didn’t know what y’all would do with such valuable information in your hands. Would y’all purchase it, slander its quality, disregard my review? It was all too risky...

Okay, I’m kidding! The only reason I didn’t share this product was because I had to make sure its results weren’t too good to be true!

This stuff works, y’all. I know its price tag can sway a few of you and even leave you thinking of all of the lace wigs you could purchase instead, but TRUST me - this serum is worth every freaking cent!

For the most part, it’s no secret that I suffer from hyperpigmentation. Usually my hyperpigmentation only presents itself in the form of ruptured zits and blemishes on my face. However, here lately, my face has switched up on me - switched faster than R. Kelly during a plea deal!

As a matter of fact, it was so sudden that I almost panicked. Thankfully, I came to my senses and stopped by Sephora with coins ready to be spent - as every Rogue member should, mind you! ;)

Since Sephora is such a vast store that one can easily get lost inside of, I (to no fault of my own) found myself knee deep in Pat McGrath and Farmacy products instead of what I truly came inside for! Luckily, a helpful sales associate noticed me drifting into the abyss of all things cosmetics and decided to reign me back in!

After about 10 mins of innocent chatter, I disclosed why I was really there - to even out my skin tone. I wanted to continue getting rid of my dark spots and I also wanted to combat my most recent concern - the darkness occurring around my mouth, lower cheeks, and forehead regions. Almost immediately, she pointed me in the direction of Dr. Dennis Gross’ IPL Dark Spot Correcting Serum.

Like a loyal brand ambassador, she began telling me how she had been using the product and how it drastically helped her cure my same concerns. She was lighter complected, so I questioned if she thought it would work on me to which she assuredly replied - “yes!” Then she quickly reminded me that if it didn’t, I had 60 days to return the serum and get my money back. Therefore, without further adieu, I made my purchase!

The Results

Having a mother as vain as me comes in handy, ladies! Because she pays as much attention to my face (and body) as I do, she was able to notice the miraculous results this serum rendered on my poor discolored skin!

Three days passed…THREE…and this is what I heard her shriek one Saturday morning…

Oh my, Jaz! That serum REALLY works. You’ve been using it for three days and your face is so much brighter!
— The Book of Kim

My reply, of course, was nothing short of disbelief. Then I took a look in the mirror and saw what she meant. In just THREE days, my chin and mouth regions were substantially lighter. It wasn't that I saw a difference in the apparent dark spots, it was the ENTIRE face that appeared more even toned.

I couldn’t wrap my head around it…I just couldn’t…

Not until I got sick and stopped using it…

Skincare is typically an afterthought when it comes to healing from a bout of sinusitis, so my lack of maintenance is justified, right? Well, it should be!

You see, my sickness plays a role in the effectiveness of this product because during the week I was sick, my face reverted back to its hyperpigmented state. My dark spots and entire face darkened to no end. It’s like I was back at square one. Once recovered, however, I began my typical skincare regimen and within THREE days (no lie), my face brightened once more!

Now that it’s been around 5 weeks since that time, I’ve seen my face do a complete turnaround. It’s glowy, supple, and most of all - even toned!

Saying this product “cured” my hyperpigmentation would be a stretch, especially since without its use, my face had a tendency to revert back with the onset of acne and sun exposure. Nevertheless, I will confidently tell you that it does keep my hyperpigmentation at bay AND away with continued use. And honestly, that’s all that matters to me!

Pretty cool secret, huh?
